Rashida James-Saadiya is a cultural educator, writer, and scholar serving as the Director of the English Department and Bilingual Curriculum at COSAAN. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in integrating literacy, culture, and arts education to develop programming that empowers students to see themselves reflected in the stories they read and embrace the many possibilities they have to shape the world.
Rashida’s teaching approach is deeply rooted in African and diasporic traditions and guided by the belief that culturally relevant education is a transformative force. She is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of thinkers who are firmly connected to their culture, multilingual, and equipped to drive meaningful social change.
